“Youth Work in Schools” Project Nears Completion: Key Milestones Achieved and Final Steps Underway

The “Youth Work in Schools” (YWIS) project is making significant strides towards its successful completion, with most key tasks now nearing finalization. During the recent project meeting on June 16, 2025, partners celebrated considerable progress and outlined the upcoming crucial steps.

A special congratulations was extended to the Greek team for the successful publication of their article, a notable achievement for the project.

The e-learning platform is now largely complete, with all submitted materials successfully uploaded.  Finnish materials are expected to be integrated this week, and Estonia’s content is confirmed as complete.  Portugal is finalizing the self-assessment questions, aiming to add a minimum of 10 questions by the end of June. Any questions regarding the platform and content integration were clarified during the meeting, ensuring a shared understanding among all partners.

Financially, 80% of the project funding has been received, with the remaining 20% to be released upon approval of the final report. Portugal and Greece have already submitted their beneficiary models, and Estonia’s submission is due by the end of June.  All partners are advised to review their budget allocations for each work package.  The Financial Monitoring Template needs to be submitted to Saila (Finland) by July 31, 2025.

The Greek team shared a successful update on their recent 3-day conference, which included a dedicated day to school-based youth work, featuring presentations and interactive workshops. The training course received very positive feedback, and Greece will provide a brief summary to the Estonian team.

Estonia is responsible for dissemination activities and will be responding to a set of dissemination-related questions prepared by Finland, which will then be uploaded to the project folder. For the final report, partners are encouraged to include an Excel file summarizing social media posts and a few pictures from project activities.

Looking ahead, social media posts for the summer are scheduled as follows: Portugal for June, Greece for July, and Finland for August. Greece still has five outstanding posts from May.

Discussions also touched upon future collaboration, with a promising idea regarding soft skills proposed by Greece, which will be added to the project’s Padlet.

The next and final project meeting is scheduled for September 18 at 13:00 EEST (11:00 WEST). The final project report is due by the end of October.
