In the context of the YWIS ERASMUS+ project, a meeting was held in Thessaloniki, Greece,
from September 16 to 20, 2024, with representatives from various organizations across
Europe. A total of 30 participants attended, representing institutions from countries such as
Greece, Estonia, Finland, and Portugal.
The event started with a welcome and an overview of the meeting agenda. Team-building
activities were conducted to help participants introduce themselves and foster collaboration.
Following this, updates were given on the progress of the YWIS project, including the
completion of one phase and the commencement of the next. The project coordinator also
reminded the partners about the upcoming deadline for cost reports.
The discussion moved to the guidelines for producing a scientific article related to the
project’s work package. The structure and methodology of the article were outlined, covering
areas such as literature, methodology, presentation, discussion of results, and references.
Teams from all the countries of the project presented their implementations and the results of
them. The Finnish team shared details about youth work projects piloted in schools,
explaining step-by-step processes for each initiative. The Portuguese team presented their
work and shared information about an upcoming online workshop. The Estonian team
discussed their dissemination activities and provided an overview of their school-based youth
work programs. A Greek NGO-MAMAGAIA, introduced their support work for youth,
offering a closer look at their initiatives.
Several workshops were conducted during the meeting. One focused on empowering students
through assemblies, while another introduced the Sociocratic Circle Method, where
participants engaged in practical activities.
The YWIS members visited two Greek schools in Thessaloniki where they had the
opportunity to discuss and share their views and experience with the teaching staff and the
principles of these schools. Also, they paid a visit to ARSIS, an NGO about youth support
and inclusion.
