On 21 November 2024, YWIS partners from Finland, Estonia, Greece, and Portugal met online via Zoom to discuss the next steps in the project’s development. The meeting was chaired by Vicky Kozari and focused on three main topics: the creation of digital courses, the preparation of a joint academic article, and upcoming creative publications.
E-Learning Platform and Digital Courses
Partners shared updates on lesson plan development for the first online course. All partners except one have already uploaded their lesson outlines to the shared folder, while the Greek team has also completed and uploaded the outline for the second course.
The University of Thessaly will host the e-learning platform, and MOODLE was selected as the most suitable option due to its open-access and cost-free nature. Partners were reminded to check the distribution licenses of all materials used in the courses and to avoid using direct links in the lessons. Instead, additional resources can be suggested as complementary materials.
The Greek team will integrate interactive tools and methods according to partner preferences. There will be no formal evaluation for the digital courses. The platform is expected to be ready by 10 December 2024, with feedback sessions scheduled between 15 and 20 December.
Progress on the Academic Article
Yannis Pechtelidis presented the progress on the jointly authored article. A collaborative Google document has been created for drafting. The article will likely have two to three authors. Partners agreed to complete the implementation of good practices and youth worker questionnaires as soon as possible to use this data in the article.
Two publication options were discussed:
- Option 1: February 2025 deadline (strict)
- Option 2: End of March 2025 deadline
The abstract is to be finalised by the end of December 2024.
Creative Publications and Other Updates
The consortium reviewed the requirements for upcoming creative publications. Each partner must prepare two expert texts and at least four creative materials for each good practice by the end of the year. Bea Ribeiro presented feedback and a detailed report from the recent online training meeting held on 8 November.
Next Meeting
The next consortium meeting will be chaired by the Estonian team and is scheduled for 9 January 2025 at 14:00.
