YWIS Project Meeting Highlights Progress and Next Steps Toward Project Completion

Date: 16 June 2025
Format: Online (Microsoft Teams)
Organized by: Saaremaa Youth Work Centre (Estonia)

The Youth Work in Schools (YWIS) consortium held its latest online project meeting on 16 June 2025, bringing together partners from Estonia, Greece, Finland, and Portugal to discuss the project’s final stages and upcoming milestones.

The meeting opened with a warm welcome from the Estonian coordination team, who expressed gratitude for the partners’ active collaboration and dedication throughout the project. It was noted that most key tasks are nearing completion, marking a significant achievement for the YWIS network. Special congratulations were extended to the Greek team for publishing an academic article on youth work in schools — a milestone that highlights the project’s growing visibility and impact.

💻 E-Learning Platform and Digital Courses

The Greek team reported that all submitted materials have now been uploaded to the YWIS e-learning platform, with Finnish content scheduled for completion within the week. Estonia’s materials are finalized and confirmed, while Portugal will complete its section by adding self-assessment questions before the end of June.

Finland raised several integration questions regarding the digital content, which were discussed and resolved collaboratively during the meeting.

💶 Project Reporting and Financial Overview

The Finnish team provided a detailed overview of financial reporting. Partners were reminded that:

  • All financial reports must be submitted to Saila (Finland) by 31 July 2025 using the official Financial Monitoring Template.
  • Estonia is responsible for the dissemination report, which will include responses to a questionnaire prepared by Finland.
  • Partners are encouraged to include an Excel summary of social media posts and photos of project activities in their final reports.

It was also confirmed that 80% of the funding has been received, and the remaining 20% will be transferred after the submission and approval of the final project report, due in October 2025.

🇬🇷 Greece Training Course

The Greek partners shared an update on their three-day training course and conference, which was attended by a large number of participants and received highly positive feedback. One full day was devoted to school-based youth work, featuring engaging presentations and interactive workshops. The Greek team will provide a written summary of the event to be included in the project’s dissemination materials.

📣 Dissemination and Social Media

To ensure continuous project visibility, each partner will publish monthly social media posts throughout the summer:

  • June – Portugal
  • July – Greece
  • August – Finland

Greece will also finalize five additional posts from the project’s dedicated dissemination month (May).

🤝 Collaboration and Future Plans

Partners shared several ideas for continued collaboration after the project’s conclusion. Greece proposed developing a joint initiative focused on soft skills, which will be discussed further on the project’s Padlet platform.

The consortium’s final project meeting is scheduled for 18 September 2025 at 13:00 (EEST).

“It’s impressive to see how much progress has been made. Each partner’s contribution has shaped YWIS into a meaningful and practical model for connecting youth work and education across Europe,” summarized the Estonian coordination team.

As YWIS approaches its conclusion, partners remain committed to ensuring a strong legacy — sharing good practices, digital tools, and sustainable models that continue to empower schools and youth workers in Europe
